Do you have any idea where in Lancashire they lived. With a name like Roberts was Robert born in Wales?

Yes Virginia that is them - was hoping to confirm a marriage date will get the first cert of children in certificate years and this should help with mothers maiden name

If you look for and find the youngest childs birth reg,buy the cert,and you will have janes maiden name.
If that is what you are after of course.

Good luck with Roberts in Lancashire,its a pretty large area to search.

A place in Lancashire would have narrowed it down a little Mark. However, there was no contraception then so kids came along pretty quickly after marriage so of the 11 marriages I can find, this is the nearest pre 1828:-

Marriages:
Spouse: JANE NEIL Family
Marriage: 23 MAY 1827 Saint Nicholas, Liverpool, Lancashire, England

There are others in Liverpool area though in the same time period so this may not be your Robert Roberts
