I have that census as well. My problem is that I don't really know if I'm on the right track as far as Mary Ann's parents are concerned. I haven't been able to locate her birth certificate. Mary Ann was married in Holy Trinity Church in West Bromwich.

I have also a 1871 cenus record for a David Jones born in Swennett, Worcestershire. The place is very difficult to read. He is living in Yorkshire. At the same address there is a Matilda Woodall born in Dudley. The whole household is from Dudley. The ages match up, but I do not know if this is the correct David Jones.

The children I have recorded for David Jones before 1877 are Joseph (1873), Thomas (1875) and Mary Ann (1876). All these dates are from the census, so they may not be accurate. I'll look into Sarah Smith. Thanks

I'm trying to find Mary Ann Jones birth certificate. She was born about 1876 in West Bromwich. According to her marriage certificate her father was David Jones (occupation: Striker). Mary Ann was married to John Jeavons on mar 23 1901.

The census records I can find have David Jones married to a Matilda Woodall - I have a possible marriage certificate for them in 1877. However the oldest child on the census is born abt 1873, which could mean that Matilda is Davids second wife.
Can anybody help sorting out Mary Ann's mother?
