Robert, a hint - hope you don't mind! Better to include both requests about grandparents in one post, deleting the other one, and include their surnames. I suspect you have posted on a surname board, but folks like me see these without knowing which surname it is.

you presumably posted this message on the Surnames thread, in which your grandmother's surname presumably showed in the header.

Unfortunately for you, and GR does not tell you this, this thread also appears on several other boards but without the header


so, much as we on the History Thread would like to help you ....... we can't!

In case you don't know ....... it is best to reply on the thread ..... scroll up until you see the PURPLE button with white lettering Reply on it ...... click on that, and then type your message in the box.





also, as Janet suggested, it is better to have only one thread on the go for the two people ........ otherwise you will have people duplicating efforts to help


and that makes some people unhappy!!!
