I am trying to trace any members of the pickering family from preston. There were 3 sisters and a brother
Marjorie born 1913
Gladys and Doris and george im doing this for a relative of theirs in Australia
so far havent found anything at all

there is a Doris, a Marjorie Ellen & a George born in Oldham with mmn = Whitehead but George is younger and again no Gladys

It says on the census doc they had 9 children born alive and three had died by 1911

I think this may be young Harold on 1901 census (he wasn't with parents in 1901 --but was on 1911)

as you have been given 2 different families perhaps it would be worth finding Marjory's father's name. There were further possiblities also when looking at Lancs bmd if the scope was widened from Preston itself to the surrounding areas.

Your friends must know a little more about her than just a name.

Did she marry so that her father could be found from that certificate.

There is a lot of information online for the Preston/Fylde area which could be searched more detail was known.

I didn't mean to confuse you (if I did) I believe the PICKERING family in 1901 and 1911 census are the same family .
On the 1911 census they have a 15 year old son Harold--that wasn't with them in 1901 census--I looked for him, and think this was him in 1901 with Aunt and Uncle George and Annie Coreless ( Annie is MAYBE nee Kibble as the marriage index given )

I agree the best thing to do is to get Marjories marriage cert to see who her father was --do you know who she married ?
