Maureen had 2 threads with that Bampton request on and several people had answered her queery yesterday on TTF

It is so irritating when that happens-such a waste of time !

However she is on TTF again with a queery for Aston Rowant so I have suggested she tries you and have "nudged" up your thread. !!

Thank you so much to you all for your help. i think Sarah Ann fox is the correct bride for William.

It's strange that Sarah Ann Cripps married a William Clack and that a generation later Willim Radband's daughter, Elizabeth married Harry Clack.

I'm sorry I was so long in replying ...we had a death in the family yesterday.

I would go for Sarah Fox as she can be found in 1871 - b1851 Aston

I've looked on the census to see if any relatives were living with them but can't find any.

However my money is on his wife being Sarah Ann Cripps as there is someone of that name working as a servant in Bampton on the 1871 census.

However to be certain you would need someone to look at the parish records or you'd have to buy the certificate.

Have you found him in 1881, 1891 and 1901 census to see if any relatvies of wife are living with them

Or traced William Clack thr the census again to see if any of wifes rellies are living with him

There were two Sarah Ann's on the registration page.

I want to find out if William was married to Sarah Ann Cripps or Sarah Ann Fox.
