A few more details. he died when he was 68 in 1959 in Pastures Hospital Derby, I can find an entry for Thomas H. Turner in 1959 but have no way of knowing if this is correct. I'm really at a loss. His father was Joseph, an Engineer, listed as living in Strensall, Yorks, on Thomas's marriage cert in 1922, New Mills. I have traced him to 1935 living in Edgeley Stockport, but nothing after that, when I presume he was committed to Derby Lunatic Asylum (which later became Pastures Hospital). Have been in touch with Derby Records and they have the records for Pastures, as I don't have transport and live quite a way from the records office, I was wondering if anybody has any connection here. He was my grandfather, I never met him. |

Some records offices have a "look up service", but the charges vary. |

I doubt whether they'd let you search such "recent" hospital records anyway. They may be closed for 100 years and you might have to contact the Health Authority to be allowed permission to access them. I'd contact the Archives, giving them the relevant dates and see what the procedure is. |
