George was a railway platelayer in 1911. i know he lived in Grange Hill, Chingford then. What i can't trace are his parents and any siblings he may have had.

Thank you for 1901 census info. I keep coming back to 1901 census with Adelaide as mother - the problem is the father's name doesn't fit! I have father of george as Charles William on georg's wedding cert.

This should be the birth registration, the certificate will give his parents names

Name: George Edward Hall
Year of Registration: 1882
Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar
District: Romford
County: Essex
Volume: 4a
Page: 272

I am wondering if his father was long dead by the time of the marriage. Sometimes they appeared on the certificates as alive when they were dead.

There is a Susan Hall with husband Charles living in Ilford in 1871 and 1881. By 1891 she is widowed and she has a son Edward born Ilford of the correct age with her. I wonder if this was your George using his middle name?
In 1871 this Charles was a groom, but in 1881, just a general labourer

death

Name: Charles William Hall
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1849
Year of Registration: 1888
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
Age at Death: 39
District: Romford
County: Essex
Volume: 4a
Page: 127

Ilford is in the Romford registration area.

All just supposition unless you buy the birth certificate

I'm trying to trace my paternal ggrandfather. My g.grandfather is George Edward Hall b.c.1882 in Ilford, Essex. His father was Charles William Hall. i can' t put them together on a census so i can't find any further info. When George married Maria Jane Jarvis on 16/02/1903 in Kelvedon Hatch, Essex (aged 21)- Charles William Hall was a coachman by trade.
Can any one help me please?
Many thanks
