I have found my 3x Gr grandmother's christening records (plus 3 possible sisters)
BUT, there are no parents names listed on any of the records.

Could someone please tell me how I can find out parents names ?

I have her marriage details and all census records.

I just need to find her parents

I know this is nuts...but could there be any connection between these two and Francesca?

I cant find her and John on the 41 census? If you know where they are could you post the info. you could look through districts and see if these two are living very near to Francesca and John

Hi Dea,

They were the Christenings which I found.

So Joannes was really 'John'

Kath,

thank you, thank you, thank you.

The info you have given certainly seems to fit with the info I had.

I had just about given up on ever finding her parents, and thought that if anyone can find something it would be someone on GR.

Thank you everyone

Julie.

Julcoe,

The Midlanes were in Mere from around 1820ish to around 1880ish with Augusta MIDLANE buried 1822 (aged abt 14), her father John MIDLANE buried 1841, mother Jane MIDLANE buried 1853 and I think another daughter Mary Jane NEWMAN is there also (buried 1877), as well as her husband. Three of the daughters were married in the church also - Martha in 1824, Mary Jane 1826 and Theresa Caroline in 1835.

The Midlanes were in Bedhampton Hants until after John Sone MIDLANE was born. They were Catholics and lived at West Camel for the birth of at least the next 3 children who were baptised in the Catholic chapel at Shepton Mallet. Interesting that they became staunch members of the Anglican church while in Mere. Mary Jane and her husband Matthias Newman (surgeon) lived next to The Ship Inn in Mere (or maybe two doors away).

Thank you for the extra info Kath.

The next generation were also involved with the Anglican church, either as clerks or ministers.

Plus John Henry Coombe was the Curate at All Saints Church, York on the 1851 census.
