I am looking for an Ellen Murphy born approx. 1823 married Isaac Howarth 14th June 1847 in Sydney. Children:- Emendia b1848, Mary b1850, Isaac b1855 d1907.

I don't have any information on Ellen Murphy at all. Who were her parents? Where and When was she born? Where did she die? I think it was in Victoria but couldn't find anything in the Vic BDMs

Can anyone help

Do you have both her marriage and death certificates ?

There is usually a LOT of extra info on the death certificate.

someone posted this on another thread..

There is a transcription service available for NSW BDM's which is provided by Joy Murrin Family History service. www.joymurrin.com.au

There full transcriptions are $17.00 plus $1.00 postage which is $10 cheaper that getting a certified copy from BDM. You can also ask for a partial transcription and cost is depended on how much information you require.

Depending on their workload they can take anywhere between 2 to 3 weeks until the transcripts arrive.

I sugest that you get the marriage certificate, asking for Ellen parents names

Reg.No./Year ..V184752 32C/1847
Groom .. HOWARTH ISAAC
Bride .. MURPHY ELLEN
District .. NL

Just received Isaac Howarth & Ellen Murphy's marriage certificate. Well it told me nothing. No ages of the parties, no parents. Only that they were both living in the parish of St Andrew and they were married on 14 June 1847 Parish of St Andrew in the County of Cumberland.

I have no idea where or when Ellen died or how she came into the country. On one of the children's birth certificate it states that she was born in Cork, Ireland.

Can anyone help me with this?

Tootifrutti.

It would be a good idea if you respond to at least one posting, before adding the same information on the "Trying to find board" today, that you have already posted on Cherilyns thread in Records Office.

Cherilyn in "Records Office Board " has already answered your query about the HOWARTH - MURPHY on the 15th Dec

Thank you Tony.
Please excuse my errors in protocol. As you are well aware, I am a newbie at this and I usually get to do this late at night. I want to thank you for all of the hard work you have put in to help me.

This all started so I could find out who my grandfather was on my father's side as he was unknown to any family member who is still alive.

Once again, thank you.

Hi.

Yes....its not easy to find your way around the various boards, if you are new to GR.

Just a hint:
If you post a request anywhere on these boards, i can assure you it will be found by someone.
There is possibly only two reasons you wont get a response to a thread. 1. The way you word a request, or 2. No one can find any hard concrete evidence/records about the person/s you are looking for.

If you get no response to a posting you added after a few days, then "delete" it, and start a new thread/posting and word your request differently.

Most peope who help on these boards are regulars, and know there way around GR better than there own house.....:>))
