Canada is vast - and anything could have happened in 54 years.

What efforts have you made to try to find/contact this person?

not only that


but there is no central registry, you have to check every province


just as you have to check every country in the UK ......... only England and Wales have combined records such as bmds.


In addition, every province has different regulations on the number of years in which bmds have to remain closed. Those regulations are very much tighter than in the UK.

In BC, deaths are closed for 20 y - you can search at:
http://search.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/sn-EF32D0/gbsearch/Births,Marriages,Deaths

In Ontario, deaths are not closed - however, no index is available for 70 y, so unless you already pretty much know what's on the d.cert, you're stuck.

Failing that, it's google or the phone book:

I got that same email

........ but I'm afraid I mis-read it and though Harry was saying he met ME in either Vancouver and Toronto in 1955!

I knew that was wrong!!
