UPDATE - a fresh look for Benjamin please.

1851 Census for Rhymney, Mon. (where he was working for the Rhymney Iron Company) shows his age 36 and birthplace Llanllawddog, Carms, Wales (previous said to be Llanddarog, Carms.)

New information from the immigration record NSW shows Benjamin, his wife Jane (Rees) and children, Ann 17, Daniel 14 and Hannah 7 on the EMMA arriving NSW 31 January 1857.

His parents recorded as DAVID and ANNE JONES living at ABERGWILI, CARMS, Wales 1856/57.

Religion: Independent. Language: Welsh.

Any help with this research will be much appreciated.

Can only find a David and Catherine Jones in Abergwili in 1841 and 51.

Many thanks to you both -Astra where is your second post from? I think probably the 1841 census - I have seen that but the ages on that one are 5 years either way. I thought it best to post only the 1851. There would appear to be a 3/4 year age difference between Benjamin and Jane - she was born in 1814 in Kidwelly.

What are David and Catherine's ages in the 1851 in Abergwili, please?

I've looked at the IGI but couldn't find anything. The other Newcastle Emlyn is intrigueing because of the names - both Benjamin and Daniel are not too common then. Possibly related, though.

I posted the 1841 because you had already seen the 1851 and I wasn't exactly sure what it was you were looking for.

This is David and Catherine but i have also found another David born 1899 but he has a 7 year old son named Benjamin so i don't think it is him.
