Trying to find Carol Ann Wood/Jones

Hi
I would be very grateful for any help anyone can provide with trying to trace my mums half sister Carol Ann.
Carol Ann born Wood born 1941 in Bury, Lancashire.
Parents Elizabeth Kershaw & Arthur Wood married 15/06/1935 at St Johns C of E, Tottington, Bury. Arthur/Elizabeth separated/divorced approx. 1944 and Elizabeth remarried an Eric Jones at Bethel Chapel, Heap Bridge, Heywood in 1945. We are led to believe that Eric adopted Carol Ann, but she definitely had her surname changed to Jones soon after the marriage.
We are led to believe that Elizabeth and Arthur had other children, but we are struggling to find them; if they truly exist. Arthur was my grandfather & the father my mother never knew. My grandmother died when my mum was only 11 years old so we are very much clutching at straws!
Any help would be gratefully recieved.

Hi Karen, since this is about living people it can be a little sensitive but all I can find for Woods births with mother Kershaw in Lancashire are two births in the 1940s in Oldham, both male.

I wonder whether Kershaw was not Elizabeth's birth surname?

Okay here's the first problem, could Arthur have been Wood not Woods? And could she have been Eileen not Elizabeth? There is a marriage in 2nd quarter 1935 for those names.

This just is not working out from the information you have. There is no Eric Jones marriage in 1945 in Lancashire to any surname like you have for Elizabeth.

Hi
Apologies, my message was not clear enough; Elizabeth's maiden name was Kershaw & Arthur was Wood not Woods as I put in the body of the message. (Apologies a typo - I will amend it now!) my mum's newly found cousin (on the Wood side) belives there was perhaps 2 little boys as well as Carol Ann, but the family was not close and she can't be sure.
I totally appreciate that this is potentially sensitive, but we are at a dead end at the mo! we know in 1946 Arthur was back living at his parents home and living with my grandmother (in sin!!)
We thought perhaps the electoral role prior/post the birth of Carol Ann may help - I don't know wha you think?
She was living at 191 Brandlesholme Rd, Bury at time of marriage to Arthur Wood.
Marriage to Eric (Heywood District 8c 1545)
Have you any tips about trying to find divorces?

Many, Many thanks for your help & ideas - truly appreciated.

I'm not knowledgeable about electoral rolls but I think you can look at them at the local library and since you have the address it could be possible.

I don't know, I am still just not finding any marriages or births that fit with your information at all. I am searching the complete marriage and births index at Ancestry and they are not there.

Oh my, I don't know whether it was me being stupid, sometimes I search marriages when I think I'm searching births, but now I see Carol's birth. She is the last of 5 births with those surnames in Bury in the right time frame. I will send you the list privately.

Will get that done first.

And now I have the Eric-Elizabeth marriage, I think I am going to blame Ancestry for the earlier failures, lol. Will send you that and any children found.
