EVANS. HAVE TRIED VERY HARD TO FIND THEM. THEY HAVE A DAUGHTER VIOLET H EVANS BORN IN 1900 WHO WAS A SINGLE MOTHER AND GAVE BIRTH TO A BABY GIRL IN 1938 SOMEWHERE IN sOMERSET WHOSE NAME WAS VALERIE
VALERIE WAS LEFT IN A HOME IN SOMERSET BEFORE THE AGE OF 2 AT A HOME CALLED 'YORK HOUSE' IN BURNHAM ON SEA. Any help on this would be most helpful and any information

Violet being single at 38 is a bit odd, to then have a daughter

I wonder whether Violet might have been married and separated.

There are 6 Cook births with mother Evans in Langport 1921-1931. One, the first of two boys, is a Gwilym.

So I think that is probably the right Violet.

so we dont think Voilet was a single mother - perhaps a seperated one - husband away , bit late to be national service.

Nope, no Valerie birth that I can see. Maybe Jean knows what the birth certificate says? And especially Valerie's surname.
