Hello Valerie,
I was about to step into the shower when I read your first message. I was sad to learn that Alan had died.
Doris and Alan left for Australia when I was barely 10 but on doing family history I wanted to know how they had fared. They had two boys around 2 and 4 on their first visit back to the UK. I never saw them after that. Wilma, the sister of Doris still lives in the NE of England but I have lived in Scotland for 30 years after I married a still handsome scot 41 years ago.
Again, thank you very much for your trouble.
Good fortune to you always
In Old Scots,
Lang may your lum reek.
regards
Janet x

Hi Janet -sad news -Alan Ward died 29/11/1992 - age 67yrs of Alfred Cove -buried at Fremantle lawn cemetery (grantee Doris Ward). .........The 'West Australian State Library' (on-line) has an 'Ask a Librarian' service -they will check electoral roll for Doris -and any newspaper death notices from 29/11/92 for family names. ....Hopefully you may find Doris in the 'white pages' still living in Alfred Cove. ...Valerie (W Aus).
