yes I have them in 1901 Richard and Margaret Evans with son Thomas Evans and his wife Minnie, and again in 1911, Richard Evans is widowed and still living with Thomas and wife Minnie.

It is just 1891 that the family is eluding me,

I know Llewleyn went to the states but not until the late 1890,s, likewise Hywell did as well, but again I have found his emigration records for 1905,

I have tried your advice using just the first names and keywords but so far no luck although i will keep trying, thanks

There's a widowed Richard Evans in the Bangor Workhouse. Is that him?

Do you have the family in 1901?

Don't use a surname.

Use a child's first name and age from the 1901 who should be on the 1891. I suggest putting their birthplace in the keywords box rather than birthplace box.

Hi
I am trying to trace a family and have found them on all census records, but the whole family do not seem to appear in 1891. I am thinking this could be a possible transcription error on the surname as the whole family is missing however, I am at a loss of how to search for a misspelt name. I have tried Evans, Ewans, Euans, Evens. The family is:
Richard Evans b1831, Llanwenllwyn, Anglesey, Wales
Margaret Evans b 1839, Bangor, Caernarvon, Wales
Hugh R Evans b 1863, Bangor, possibly away at sea as sailor
Thomas R Evans b1865, Liverpool (sailor)
John A Evans b 1866, Bangor (sailor)
Llewellyn Evans b1868, Bangor
Samuel Evans b1872, Bangor
Hywell Evans b1877m Bangor

There were 3 other sons, but I beleive by 1891, they had died,

Has anyone got any ideas please.

I too will continue searching for them, thank you

Vicki
