Trying to find Anne Caunt, born in Rippingale, Lincs she had two illigitimate children, William in 1842 and Jane in 1844 then she seems to have vanished. Does anyone have any ideas please. |

Died? Married? Have you found her on any census? |

Thanks everyone. I've got her baptism but will check out the other things you mentioned. William is with his grandmother in that census. He goes on to become a Police Constable in Cambridge. I can't find Anne on any census with her Caunt surname will try the other surnames. |

I did ask if you had her on any censuses. Do you? Nobody has posted any. |

FWK on the census means Frame Work Knitter. Maybe this is Frame Work Nitter. They probably scratch their heads a lot! |

Thanks Ozi. This would be that family in 1841. No Ann, but the father ties up with the christening record. |

Thanks everyone, the 1851 census is correct for William. I did see the census where Ann Caunt was listed but it's difficult to know if that is her or not as there is another entry in another place too. I think I shall have to give up on Ann but thanks for your help. |

Thanks. Yes there are two trees on Ancestry, Pam's tree and Roberts Tree - renamed by accident. I'm off to the Lincoln Record Office again tomorrow and will try and find her grandfather Stephen's birth in c.1773, I think he's from Grantham - nothing on the IGI about his birth, just his marriage, he was married in 1793 in Denton and although he is 'of this parish' there are no other Caunt's there. So it's off to search the fiche and see what I can find. |
