Find Ancestors

I have joined the 2 threads as advised :
i am trying to find marriage or any details on William Smith and his Wife Lillian Heslop / Hesslop.
This is a bit of a sad tale : Children were put in a Home very
young when mother died, by an elderly man we think was their father , somewere in Lancaster,

We are trying to find details for Margaret of her parents as for years she has tried to get her birth cert which we have now got on it her father is a 'General Hawker ' as you can see the family moved round each child born some were different.....have had some great help in finding details of the birth as you can see below...
One link -Smith William H Heslop Sunderland 10a 1252 ...turned out not to be Lillian but Elizabeth....

Margrets birth cert says:
WILLIAM SMITH - LILLIAN SMITH Nee HESSLOP - 2/4/1937 THEY LIVED AT 1.KING ST CHORLEY LANCS - HE WAS A GENERAL HAWKER.

Snag is - no-one now knows what was found on your other two threads.

As you know, I looked for a marriage - couldn't find one.

Maybe there wasn't one, or, as I suggested, the woman had been married before and had a different surname.

What, exactly, is the wording on the certificate you have? All of it, please.

I have checked out this site...

Will amend this page and include what found about children, only the one bit i have put on is all what was found about parents marriage.

So it doesn't say Lilian Smith - formerly Heslop?

If that is the case, they did not marry

Are you sure about DAVID?
