Hi Andrew,

Thank you so much for the e-mails. Lily wasn't very truthful, she stated she was a widow which wasn't true. She left her husband in the UK as he was a drunk. She states she had two children but as her son didn't want to go with his mum she left him in the UK.

As hubby re-married I will now have to look for a divorce.

Hi Maureen,

Thank you for finding that. Is it difficult to read only age given for Francis M is 11/12, birth year as 1909 but date of entry is 1910. This is first time I've had to look for records other than in the UK so very much a novice.

I really appreciate the help thank you.

Well found Mureen. The Naturalization papers show she came from Canada.

Please could someone help me find the records which show Frances Lilian Walker (known as Lily) leaving the UK to go to America.

She was born in 1880 in Derby, married John Walker in 1900 and I believe she left him in 1909. Apparently she went to America in 1910 taking her two daughters with her. I think her daughters were called Emma/Emily and Cissy (I don't know what her proper name was.
I have been led to believe she became very wealthy in America due to opening up several coffee shops. She came back to visit the UK a couple of times but not sure what years, possibly the late 30's early 40's

She died in 1952 in either Pittsburgh or St Petersburgh.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't find them on Ancestry.

Thank you

Chris
