Member Since: February 2006 Posts: 15 Send Message	Hi, My GGgrandmother was Hannah Eliza Wood (born 1861-63, Malton). She married James Horsley Rhodes and had the following children: Herbert, James, Clara, John William, Jane, Arthur, Edith, Eva and Maud. I am struggling to find information about Hannah's parents - particularly her mother. Her father was George Wood (born around 1838) who was a wood sawyer. In 1881 Hannah is recorded to be living with her father, George, and younger sister, Clara (7), in Norton/Malton. By this time, however, George is listed as a widower. I have tried for some time to find the identity of Hannah Eliza's mother and would greatly appreciate a point in the right direction! I would also love to hear from any descendents of the Wood/Rhodes family. Thank you Janine

It does make me wonder what happened to George's family between 1871 and 1881 - Large family (wife and children) listed in 1871 then by 1881 he is a widower and only the daughters Hannah Eliza and Clara are living with him!
