hi Lyne
Do you think it'd be worthwhile having Andrew's death certificate (1942) 'searched' (ie by 'Joy Murrin's Transcription services') (fee abt $15) for mother's full name -in case there's a 'middle' name? ..Valerie

Hi Valerie
I do not know if Mary, William & John had middle names. Mary Anderson (Ranson) was my GG Grandmother. I have all the information on the descendants of my G Grandparents, Andrew Teasdale Ranson & Caroline Rostron but have been unable to find information on my GG Grandmother, Mary and her second husband, William or on my G Uncle, John. The Ryerson Index lists death notices from 169 Australian Newspapers which I have searched online also have pursued many other avenues over the last 3 years with no luck.
Thanks for your help.
Regards
Lyne

Hi Lyne, Did Mary/William/John have 'middle' names? (I noticed Andrew was 'Andrew Teasdale Ranson' when he died 1942. I also noticed a Cyril Auburn Ranson d 1969 (Andrew's son) ...is this your own line? or worth following up? ...It's difficult to find deaths for such common names -so 'middle' names would help! ....The NSW State Library has an 'Ask a Librarian' service - they can check electoral rolls -though they would need more clues...(apart from 'Andrew Teasdale') The Librarian can check newspaper death notices for family names (ie Cyril Auburn Ranson 1969)......Valerie (W Aus)) .....

Mary Teasdale (c1837 Lamesly, Durham) married Robert Ranson at St Nicholas Newcastle on Tyne 1860; Mary had two children to Robert, namely, Andrew (1861) and John (c1864); Robert died in 1862 and Mary married William Anderson (born c1838 UK) in c1872 in the UK (don't know where).
Mary, William, Andrew & John emigrated to Sydney Australia in 1880 (ship "Camperdown"). The family settled in the Newcastle, NSW District. Andrew died in 1942 and his last place of residence was 9 Corlette Street, Newcastle, NSW
I am trying to find Mary (Parents - William Teasdale & Mary Vass), William and John's deaths. I have checked the Ryerson Index, the NSWBDM and Cemetery listings with no luck.
Can anyone please help?
Thanks
Regards...Lyne
