Check for a later marriage.

My gt gt grandparents did not marry until 24 years after the birth of their first child. They eventually married 14 days before their first daughter married!

Had a lot of children, so probably didn't find the time!

Thomas william Ansley was bap 7/3/1877 Islington -mother Alice maude Ansley "spinster" No father named or present
Birth reg 1877 Mar Q 1b405 Islington

But perhaps not a second marriage just a late one!

I think Thomas senior's age has been wrongly read and should be 24 and whether the children are his or not -unless he is shown as such on their birth certs we shall never know

it could be them but he was a groom in 1891 and a bus driver in 1901.

1881 - above Thomas is a steamship stoker if that helps.

I am trying to find the following,Thomas Robertson b1857,wife Alice Robertson b1857 and daughter Alice b1878,Son Thomas b1879 and son Albert b1881. in the 1881 census .Also the marriage of Thomas and Alice.If anyone can help I would be very grateful.Many thanks in anticipation.I have them in 1891 and 1901 living in London.
