I am trying to find THomas Rigby in 1841 and 1851. In 1861 and 1871 he is a potter, born c1832 in Burslem. No father is named on his marriage cert to Martha Pedley in 1854 (Rigbey on Staffsbmd). In 1861 he is transcribed as Rigley. Any help with this brick wall would be welcome.
Thank you
Hilary

Hello Ann,

Thank you for the time and effort you have put in for me.

I have looked again at the family you suggested, and my first thought is that there was not time for another birth between James (Nov1831) and Eliza(Apl 1833) assuming that the recorded ages for 'my' Thomas were correct, so like you I think that this suggestion could be discarded.

Hello,
I must apologise that I have not looked at this thread for a while. Misunderstanding the way the boards work, I 'lost' as I did not realise that I had to set the name in the surname information box and then go to the trying to find board.
If anyone wants to add their ideas again I would be very grateful and I am sorry if anyone thought that their help was not appreciated.
