My mum gave birth to a daughter in 1944/5, she called her Francis, my mum would have given her the surname martin or Halewood she was adopted or given away! very soon after. I only know that the people she was given to lived in Birkenhead cheshire. Does anyone out there know anything or could anyone help. i don't think the baby was ever regitered before the adoption. thanks in anticipation gail |

If you go to the Tips Board and put "adoption" in the search box at the top, there are a lot of similar questions. One of them may give you a clue where to go next. |

Just a thought. would her surname still be Martin? Her "new" parents will have given her their surname. |
