I have Robertsons from Kenmore, Auchindoir, Auldearn, Cove, Inverness, Musselburgh, Aberdeen, Perth to name but a few.......don't think there are any from Dundee or from Leith but I do have connection to both North and South Leith so who knows what I might find

Was worth a try Aileen. From personal experience looking for Robertsons anywhere is needle and haystack stuff - I have traced OHs Robertsons to Leith in the early 1800s. Problem is there are loads of them in Leith too!!

I am sure that there is a site somewhere that has some Dundee MIs online but can't remember where as it is a few years since I looked at it.

www.deceasedonline.com has pretty good coverage of the Angus area.

I took a look at James and Mary Moodie's marriage record and it doesn't say that James Parents were deceased but I couldn't find a death for Mary Spankie. Looking for Robertsons in Dundee is needle in a haystack territory.

On the 1856 marriage certificate were James's parents still alive please?

Looking for parents of James Robertson who married Mary Spankie in Dundee, don't have much info on them I'm afraid, except that they were both weavers and their son James was born c1833 and he married Mary Mudie/Moodie 17.06.1856
