Hi, am trying to find any information on what happened to the Lee children, William Jnr, Nellie and Edith. William Jnr was born in 1897 in Ware, Hertfordshire, Nellie was born in 1898 in Ware, Hertfordshire and Edith was born in 1899 in Ware, Hertfordshire. Their parents were William Lee and Edith Lee nee Peacock. They lived at the Bourne in Ware. They are shown on the 1911 Census as still being in Ware. I am trying to find if there are any descendants of these children as I am particularly interested in young Edith's life. Any help would be much appreciated. |

Dear Kathryn, I think we must be related! My father, George Charles Reginald Tidey, had a cousin William (Bill) Lee who lived at 38 Clement Street, Ware, Hertfordshire. We visited him several times when my brother, Richard and I were children and my father and I visited Bill just before my father's death in 1984 because dad wanted to put his mother's headstone on her grave in Ware cemetery. I spoke to my brother today and I think he's going to try to contact Bill's relatives by writing to his old address. I will let you know if I hear anything. I am keen to know what you know about Edith Lee (nee Peacock) because my maternal grandmother's mother was a Peacock who married a Pococke!! And my mother's line (Wakeling) derive from Essex. |
