Find Ancestors

I am trying to find information on Percys parents and family. Percy was born 09.02.1920 in Woking, Surrey. His fathers name is Frank Hall, Mother is Ellen Martha (unknown). Percy married Jean Elsie Kathleen Alden in 1947, Surrey. Any help would be appreciated.

so then looking for Frank Hall marrying Rogers gives:

Marriages Sep 1907 (>99%)
HALL Frank Guildford 2a 223
ROGERS Nellie Guildford 2a 223 (Nellie, Ellen, Eleanor always interchanged)

Searching for Hall children with mothers maiden name Rogers throws up these potential siblings:

Births Dec 1917 (>99%)
Hall George J Rogers Chertsey 2a 92

Births Sep 1923 (>99%)
Hall Leonard N Rogers Chertsey 2a 116

To be sure these are the right family you would need to order one of the birth certs - probably Percys as these are the facts you started with.

How did you come by the parents names? DO you know when they were born or how old they were when Percy was born??

This is my sisters' in laws and that is all the informationI have been able to get from Percy's wife Jean.

I dont have full access to the 1911 census but have found Frank Hall b ca 1880, Kingston, Surrey living with Ellen Martha Hall b ca 1885 Guildford Surrey.

Might help to track them in previous census!

ROGERS Ellen Martha St. Olave 1d 256

Dates & ages did tend to vary from record to record so dont dismiss on that basis.

Hi Bev, sorry not been able to confidently track either Frank or Ellen on previous census records. My knowledge is limited but there are plenty of seasoned helpers on here who appear to find info from nowhere!!

Over to the experts - can someone help Bev further??
