Kind of,but it does not get you to who the children in the photo were..:)

I did note Edward ,Alice and Johns names were not there.

I think I have got as far as I can go,I have exhausted any lines of search that I can think of.

Maybe a marriage cert of Janet and John would tell you if they are "yours"or not?

Do let me know if you find out whos they were as I would like to know.

I have just looked up the estate of Sarah Ellen Hebden(1902) daughter of Mary Jane Hall (1873) she died without making a will in March 1970, her money went to her cousins all of whom had already died so their share went to those of them who had children living, the cousins who were on the Hall side, Walter (2 children) Arthur (1 child) Harold (1 child) Frederick (2 children) Wilfred ( 2 children) Percy (9 children)

Thank you for this information, no member of the family ever emigrated as far as I know, I'm sure if they had the family would have spoken about it.
I must have been having a 'senior' moment, of course she could not have been their g.grandmother, her own children were to young.
Yes I think John did marry Janet.
in the 1911 census it says Sarah & Thomas had 12 children - 9 living do you think Edward might have died?

I dont think they were G grandchildren now,just Grandchildren.

I cant find an entry to suit Edward on 1901,or John and Janet and family on 1911.
Did they emigrate?

Mary Jane had a son called Thomas Stephen 1900 & a daughter Sarah 1902
Walter had a daughter Nellie 1901 & a son Arthur 1908
Edward can find no record of his children
John W can find no record of his children

My mother is Grandma to her G,grandchildren,my grandchildren..
They could be,but they would still have to be descended from one of the 4 in my last post I would say..

I have just had a thought do you think they could be her g.grandchildren but she was known as Grandma.

Alice ,Frederick,Harold and Arthur are single and at home with parents on 1901.
They would have had to go some to marry and have children that age by 1902/12 I would have thought .

So it looks to me that you are searching for them to be the children of either.

Mary Jane,,,John W,,,Edward or Walter.

To do that you will need to find each of Thomas and Sarahs 10 childrens marriages.
Find them with spouses on census and hopefully come up with Annie and Emma.
A fair old long haul I think.!

Can anyone help me solve the mystery of who Annie & Emma are?
My g.grandfather Thomas Hall(1848) married Sarah Holt(1847) July 25th 1868 at Astley Bridge Bolton, they had the following children John W 1869 Edward 1870 Mary Jane 1873 Walter 1877 Alice 1879 Harold 1881 Frederick 1883 Arthur 1885 Wilfred C 1887 Percy 1891.
I have a photograph of my G.Grandmother with 2 young girls age around 12-14 taken at Blackpool in 1902 or 1912 with the message to Grandma love from Emma & Annie can anyone tell me which of Sarah's children had children called Emma and Annie, they do not look like sisters. But one of them looks identical to my 15 year old grand daughter, so alike its uncanny.
I have looked up the census returns without any luck - perhaps you can have more.
