trying to find the parents of clarence muff, b 1908 circa hilda b 1914, fred, george ? sally or sarah?
all born in bradford around 1905 to 1914, lived leeds road area in bradford.
clarence was a boxer and he married an ivy melgram .

Can you tell us what you have done to find out? The names seem rather unusual; have you found their birth registrations, at FreeBMD?

Their birth certificates would show their parents' names, of course. You might find a Muff marriage shortly before the births that seems the only likely one, but you really need a birth certificate to confirm.

Once you find, say, Clarence, you search for any MUFF living with Clarence Muff, and that should give you the parents and siblings born by 1911.

Ah, I see Astra did that search for you.

The birth record gives you the mother's surname, so you should be able to find the marriage without much difficulty at FreeBMD to get her full name.

And then search for all births with surname Muff and mother's Surname Ashley to find the other children's births!

Ann o' GG, there are a gazillion Muffs in Bradford.

Oh, interesting ... I was going to say once Dawn has the parents' marriage, she'll know what Muff to look for (he may not have been born by 1881, but the 1911 should give an approx age).

But -- no Muff-Ashley marriage showing at FreeBMD. Maybe the mother had been married before? Hopefully a child's birth certificate would say.
