There are three closed records with them.


There were 8 Webster/Curtis births in Sunderland between 1916 and 1939, one of which is Margaret.
I can't say if they are all children of the same couple or not - but there's no other Webster/Curtis marriage in Co Durham in a reasonable timeframe, so I expect they are.

Much appreciated. Birth certs ordered yesterday so should get some clarity from that but as you say 99.9% chance are one and the same.

Although common names all the info leads to conclusion they are the children of Isabella and James. Sadly both died within a few months of each other in 2013. Eldest in Canada and Fred in Sunderland.

Details re Margaret Webster will help a great deal and a child born in 57 would be great as a good chance of still being alive.

You'll have to buy the birth certs to establish if they are the children of the right parents.

You'll find the reference details on FreeBMD. I didn't post them here in case these people are still alive.

The birth years, birth places, and middle names of Joseph and Frederick would make it 99.9% certain that they are the right ones, to my mind.

There is a 1951 marriage in Sunderland, of a Frederick R Bewick to a Margaret R Webster - again see FreeBMD.

There is also the birth of a Bewick child with mms Webster, in Sunderland in 1957.

Thanks. I am looking for family members of Isabella. She was born Sunderland 1903 and had 3 sisters and one brother mentioned earlier in this link. She went on to marry James Bewick born 1900 in 1921. I believe she had two children but yet to confirm. Belief is that these are Joseph John Bewick born 1922 and Frederick Rennie Bewick born 1926.

I believe Joseph emigrated to Canada in 1957 and Frederick lived in Sunderland. However I cannot find details of any children of Frederick although an obituary states he had children.

Dont want to go too far along the line until I actuall establish they are brothers and the children of Isabella. Still researching.

There were two Bewick/Rennie births in Sunderland, 1922 (Joseph J R) and 1926 (Frederick R ).

A Joseph JR Bewick married in 1942 in Sunderland.
Two children born in Sunderland, 1945 and 1948.

Frederick may have been living in Sunderland in 2014, per Electoral Roll.
Middle name is his mms.

I am trying to find any relatives of Charles Rennie from Sunderland.

He was killed in WWI aged 49ish according to war records - he is buried in France - I thought this was strange being over there at that age.

He was married to Mary Elizabeth nee Holmes in 1902 and lived in Silver Street Sunderland and who was married previously to John Lawson (who I can't find any trace of after 1894).

I didn't know this family existed until I started doing the family tree.

Charles as it turns out is my mother's grandfather - my great grandfather - I know he and Mary had had about 11 children and she had 3 children before that.

Any help would be appreciated.
