Carol...Given that Wm.Martin was a Sugar Boiler then you may need to be looking at Belfast...only 2 "Sugar Houses" in NI one on Rosemary St.and the other on Waring St. (Both Streets are together.)
If Wm.was living in L'Pool then the Sugar Houses were all over...
Is there an address for JM on his MC.

As he was born c 1909, you could try the Irish 1911 census site

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/

This is a free site, unlike ours !

I had a quick look but couldn't see an obvious match - you may have to try widening your area of birth?

Good morning all could anybody help me find Joseph Martin, i really can t find anything about him. Joseph married my great nan Ethel Roberts in Liverpool registry office 26-12-1934 on the marriage cert it says he is a house painter journeyman aged 25. It also states that his father was William & was a sugar boiler confectionery manufacturer. He died 1953 in a accident at liverpool docks. All my mum remembers is that he was born in NI possibly Donaghadee, he was also a prominent member of the orange lodge. I know its not a lot to go on but any help would be most appreciated many thanks Carol.
