I ordered Army records and one set was very helpful. I will add that it takes a long while for the information to come through. I think I waited about 3 months |

Thank you all for your help as next of kin I can download the application forms and get them sent off and sit back and wait for a couple of months knowing that the information I need will eventually pop through my letter box. |

Hi I agree with your comment about duplication of records and time waiting. Whilst this happened in one lot of Army Records the other ones I ordered for my grandfather - who I had never met - was very informative. Gave his height weight distringuishing marks colour or hair. Also gave information about what he done when he left Army between the first and second world war. Very interesting |

My father's Navy records arrived within the month (but they were signed by his widow so were free) Other records ordered by a family member from the RAF at a cost of £30 arrived within 6 weeks. |

It seems I was over optimistic on the couple of months but as its information I and my siblings would really like to have the wait doesn't really matter. |
