Find Ancestors

Agnes was born 1842 in Lasswade Scotland to Elizabeth Mein and David Walker. I can't find any of them on a census. I know she married in 1865 in New Zealand but also can't find her arriving in NZ. Any one with ideas on where to look would be great.

I saw that census but can't find a death for David or Elizabeth that would mean that she had to go and live with her Aunt and Uncle.

If they died before 1855 there probably wont be a record

The 1841 census that Sylvia found was take shortly before (06/06/1841) Elizabeth Mein married David Walker so unless the marriage date is wrong or Elizabeth called herself Walker before she married it not the one we are looking for

Elizabeth's death cert was signed by Peter Edgar who appears to have been her daughter Margaret's brother-in-law.

I haven't found a death for David Walker but a reasonable assumption would be that he died before statutory records began in 1855

Thanks I will try the sites. Agnes ended up in Blenhiem where she married a Thomas Warner in 1865. I know she could have come in
at several ports and even come over from Australia. Her age means that it is unlikely she was a convict as they stoped arriving in Aus after 1840s.
