Joseph Ward, Army Hospital Corps 1866

Joseph Ward born August 1839 Layham Suffolk. Married Ambrosien Austen of Brenchley Kent June 1866. Profession Private Army Hospital Corps Woolwich.1871 living Plumstead Kent still private A.H.C. Army number unknown. 1881 Ambrosien widow teaching Bradwell-on-sea Essex. Youngest child aged 6. So likly Joseph died after 1874.Can't find record of death in U.K.. Army returns show a J.Ward dying at the Cape 1877-8 but no unit shown. Thus unconclusive. Could have been involved in Zulu wars. Has anyone any info on his demise or suggestions on where to look. Please. |

The Essex death is quite probable he had relatives in the area. |
