I am afraid that because she was adopted in1966 she may not even know that she is adopted, if she does know she will also know that her birth name was rebecca Johnson and that she was born in Scarborough.

many thanks again Victoria

I have GOOGLED the data you have posted & found where you have posted ie Searchline etc

Why not do a GOOGLE using your mother's data
pretending you are Rebecca & doing a search using just the details that would be on her original birth certificate OR from her adoption file.

Z
EDIT
You have done the best you can ..............if I was Rebecca with just my birth certificate data I would have found your postings/searches.

For the child to search for her birth mother is easier than the reverse.
SADLY what can happen is the child does not want to upset their adoptive parent/s by wanting contact with their birth family.

PS
what you could do, is do a search as Rebecca could do, using your Mum's data.

If Rebecca is interested this would be how she would start her search cos as JOHNSON is a popular surname, she will (unless your mum has an unusual first name ) have trouble pinpointing the correct JOHNSON family.

When i go to this website it does say it holds a record for a rebecca Johnson and that it is under adoption she was born 23,11,1966, it says England searches as well. This search is very had for me as i am a sibling, and our mother is still alive in her 60s and she still believes that her daughter will just knock on her door one day.

thankyou for your reply kind regards Victoria
