Find Ancestors

Would someone be able to look up the marriage of George Humphries and Maud Alice Mitton at St Matthew Toxteth Park in 1900.I am doing the research for a friend who has just had a kidney transplant and has decided to work on his family history while he has time on his hands.At the moment I am trying to keep the costs down for him so if anyone could help it would be great.In my own town parish records are on microfilm at the library so i am hoping there is similar in Toxteh Liverpool.

Also on the page is Maude Alice Mitton.

Unfortunately you can't see marriage certificates without buying them so you would need someone who was going to the County records Office to help you but I'm not sure whether even they would have details from a certificate of this date.

I can't find any reference to this church in the Lancashire Record office catalogue so possibly the only way will be to buy the certificate. The catalogue usually says if records kept elsewhere eg Liverpool. (I think Liverpool records office is also closed for some time. Anyone from Liverpool on here could possibly help you with that info.)

Liverpool record office was due to close at end of May but has been extended. A date hasn't been set yet but I don't expect it to be there by July.

I don't know how long it will take to reopen in the temporary accommodation and what the facilities will be like.

The records may be in the archive if not on microfilm. I'm off work in a few weeks so will try to check (after the other people I have promised)

PS Ann, I haven't forgotten about your scan. Will try and set up my scanner this afternoon.
