Hi Everyone

I'm a little confused or I should say very confused I have found the person I'm looking for in the 1911 census but here is the problem I have. When I print the cnesus it says on page one

Census Record: John Smith this is in bold then under that it prints the details of the person I want can I print this without the name John Smith showing.

My next problem is I have found my Grandmother in the 1891 census in Genes Reunited and again when I print it out I get the name John Smith in bold and it prints on two pages I would like it on one page if possible.

My last problem is I can not find her in the 1891 census in Ancestry.com can anyone explain why?

Thanks for any advise that can be given re the above.

Hi Sheena
I suggest on the 1911 that you highlight the part you want to print and in your printer options select 'print selection'.
To print to one page should also be available under your printer options.
Can't explain why you can't find your Grandmother but if you give us her name we can take a look for you.

The whole page on the actual image of that census has the names list by Surname followed by given name. For some reason Jane's is the only one not switched around on the transcript.

Sheena, the census I posted was from ancestry. if you put her name in in reverse i.e. Dickie Jane rather than Jane Dickie you will find her.

Hi rootgatherer

Many thanks for your help I will try it because it has been bothering me for a while as to why I couldn't find her. It is difficult when there are no family members to ask about the background but Genes have been a great help.

Hi rootgatherer

Many thanks for all your help I have now found Jane Dickie on Ancestry do you know how I can have the information corrected.

On the 1911 census in Genes for Jane Walker who is the same person as above except she has married and is now a widow it shows Wilson DIckie as a boarder he is actually her Father Mary Ann Dickie shown as a boarder is also her Mother this can be confirmed on the 1901 census. Do you know if I can have this amended?

One more question I have looked at another relative on the 1911 census through Genes and note that they have the word infirmity showing under the word nationality this does not appear on the census for Jane Walker born 1873 and members of her family do you know why.

Jane Walker is my Grandmother so I know for sure the facts mentioned above are correct

Jane Walker lived in Stephenson Street Canning Town in the Parish of West Ham.
