James was born to Thomas King and Elizabeth, nee Gauntlett Jan-Mar 1846 in Winchester, Hampshire. He appears in the 1861 census with his parents but Thomas died in 1868.
I have found a James King, said to have been born Hartley Wintney, Hampshire 1845, in 1871. He is with a Sarah King, both married (to each other?) and a Judith King. Neither of them is accorded a 'relationship' to the Head, who is an innkeeper, but there is also a Judith King, visitor.
In 1881 there is a James King, born abt 1845 in Winchester, married to Ann and they are living in Bristol.
Does anyone have any ideas about this please?
