I finally received the marriage certificate of William Brown To Francis Holt today married 19th July 1902.
William Brown is aged 31 occupation listed as Labourer His fathers name is William Brown occupation Listed as either lab Propuctor or Cab Propuction hard to read the writing
Frances Holt aged 22 years old Father George Holt deceased occupation listed as Builders Foreman
William and Francis lived in Battersea.
not sure if the war record is this William Brown or not My grandad William son was 6 feet tall not that matters much would be nice to know if thats him or not.
Would anyone like to confirm the facts and the Military record if possible?

According to his military papers William was in the Suffolk Regiment from 1885 to 1901 (that is the latest date i can find in his papers). He names his father as William.
He enlists again in the Royal Kent Regiment at the start of WW 1 on 5th August 1914 age 47 naming his wife as Frances. He then seems to have been discharged as medically unfit on August 26th 1914.
His death was on 11th January 1940. If you would like these records I will download and send them to you if you send me your E mail address. His medical record makes fascinating reading.

They don't however appear to have a son William. There is a Robert born 1869 who them seems to become Frederick in 1881 so who knows?

You will need the marriage certificate to confirm her Father's name but she could be the daughter of Selina and George. In 1881 (below)Selina is a widow with a young Frances. I think Selina's maiden name was Straight.

Hi I am trying to find out any information about my grandads parents. My Grandads name was Leslie James Brown born in the bromley workhouse Farmborough. I have him in the 1911 census along with his brother alfred he was 1 month old his brother 2 there mother frances is also listed Frances Brown age 34 her maiden name was Holt and she was born in essex . on grandads birth certificate his dad is listed as william and occupation house painter living in beckenham. I can not find any information about william or francis Holt any help would be gratefully apreciated i can't find there mariage certificate either
