thanks for all your help but as you stated the names of the children do not appear to be quite right. i have already got the 1871 and 1881 census for john bennett senior and i am 80 % certain that sarah is the sister of john bennett junior and the 1901 census for john bennett junior only shows 2 children - william 3 and infant son just born. thanks again for the search

Margaret ,
I found the marriage of Sarah Bennett to Joseph Perry Oct 1/4 1913 St George in the East.
From the BMD indexes i think these are their children all born St George in the East
.Ernest Bennett March 1/4 1915
William Dec 1/4 1916
Charlotte 1921
Arthur 1925
My Ernest Bennett b 1890. married Dora Perry b 1890 St Pancras
maybe a connection somewhere .

i still cannot find out where sarah bennett was in 1911. sarah bennett b1887 bethnal green. 1901 census states she was a visitor at john and jessie bennetts house. i believe john was her brother . she was 14 in 1901 i know she got married in 1913 to joseph perry but would like to know her whereabouts in 1911

Dea Report 11 Jul 2010 10:58

What I do know Margaret is that IF this is the Sarah you are following from the Perry thread, she is NOT Johns sister.

John Bennett
Age: 29
Estimated birth year: abt 1862
Spouse Name: Jessie Taylor
Spouse Age: 19
Record Type: Marriage
Event Date: 29 Mar 1891
Parish: St Matthew, Bethnal Green
County: Middlesex
Borough: Tower Hamlets
Father Name: John Bennett .......... Painter.
Spouse Father Name: Robert Taylor

The Sarah you are looking for who married Joseph Perry had a father called James who was a Carman (deceased at the time of her marriage in 1913.)

P.S. It is always best to stick just to one thread if the people are closely connected, otherwise people look the same things up twice.

i dont seem to be thinking straight or else i am clutching at straws i really thought i had found out my nans family but obviously i will have to start from scratch again and look for her fathers name as james as mentioned on the wedding certificate. thanks for that dea and i realise now i should have put the bennetts and the perrys on one thread

Dea

Dea Report 11 Jul 2010 15:29

Not to worry Margaret,

Just edit your title on this one as 'closed' and post a link to thye Perry thread so people can see all the info and add on there.

can anyone look at the marriage certificates for the following to see if the fathers name is the same on both. james bennett md to elizabeth medcalf sept 1887 st georges east 1c667 and also
james winter md to emma metcalf sept 1896 1c363
i am hoping that when the surname of both females should be one and the same and they have just been transcribed wrongly. thank you for any help.
i hope i have opened the bennett thread correctly as i accidently deleted the perry thread which was connected and i apologise for not putting too much detail down as i dont want to go over old ground. thanks again

If you want to add information as I did, you press EDIT

The message box will show up with the already posted message and one can add extra information.
You then press SUBMIT and the ammended post will appear in it's original place in the thread.
As this would not move that thread up the boards, I thought you might miss it, so I clicked REPLY and added a new post to tell you what I'd done
