Beryl hasn't said what she's hoping to be found for her.

She already knows the parents and their dob, even the father's date of death.
Would be nice to have a proper question to follow up on.

Anything on Will. Frederick Edwards. This family is confusing. The mother a Charlotte Payton married we think three times. First to William James Wale in 1873 [can't find much on him]. They had, we think five children. She married again to James Edwards in 1888 & we think the c/d took the name Edwards. We think she married a Pook later but can't find the marriage. There also is a problem with the child Eliza as we found her as Edwards/Gaffney and again as Wale. It seems William Frederick was the only true Edwards.
Anything you have on any of these people would be appreciated. Thanks so much,

Would indicate that she was James's child but had to be registered in the mother's name because it was before they married.

Thanks so much. Any idea about Eliza 1881. on one 1881 Census she is listed as Edwards/Gaffney. Gaffneys apparently lived next door. Would you think all the children were Edwards? Do you have anything on the first husband William James Wale b 1850 Kensington 3 388 or his twin George Henry Wale?
I really appreciate your help.

You would have to check the certs but I would guess James John is possibly son of William Wale but by 1881 no sign of William ....and the "lodger" James Edwards is down as head of household !
Charlotte is recorded as lodger's wife (!) but the marriage wasn't until 1888
I assume the marriage cert to James has Charlotte listed as widow but I can't see a death for William.

Eliza's cert may well have no father listed but the fact that she is registered with Edwards as a middle name speaks volumes !

Thanks. I have found William Wale in 1881 Census as an AB Seaman on a ship called Dispatch out of Tynemouth Northumberland. Then nothing. He married in 1873 but the first children were James John and Harry William, twins in 1878 five years after the marriage. I can't find out how long he was a sailor. Maybe he perished at sea.
James John was my grandfather.
