Have found a Stephen Asprey b c1800 who had a sister Elizabeth b c1802 both Ampthill, Beds and she married a William Taylor in 1822. But her parents were William and Alice and none of William & Elizabeth's children were Alice. There are so many Taylors and Coopers in this area of Beds how can I know I've found the right one. Any suggestions please? |

so true and plenty of William Taylor's died Biggleswade/ Bedford during 1841-51. Have traced James Sweet to Shoreditch and Stephen Asprey was born in Biggleswade so perhaps I need to investigate how they are connected to William. Many thanks for all the advice and help. |

Whoops, just read it again. William appears to be still alive in 1857 at his daughter's marriage. Don't know why they married in Shoreditch but it does seem to be the correct Mary Ann |

1861 (for background, and slightly different age, but she is older than James, so could have told untruths): |

Please can you help find William Taylor father of Mary Ann Taylor who married James Cooper at St Mary's Haggerston on 18.3.1857. Witnesses James Sweet & Stephen Asprey (?). James & Mary Ann give their addresses as Brunswick St, Mddx but Family Search give their birthplaces & 1861 census return as Henlow, Beds. Only William, carpenter I found came from Clapham, Surrey as did his family. Please can you help find the right William? thank you |
