In the 1881 census there is a Alfred Allen who is a police constable and he is with a group of policemen . It says he is married.
In the 1891 census he is still a police constable and his wife is Ada J.
Some of his children are listed as born in Islington.
It's a bit confusing isn't it.

I am trying to find a marriage for Alfred Samuel Allen.

Alfred's father was John Spencer Allen a ropemaker in Chatham - Kent - England
His mother was Ann Wells
I believe he was born about 1861 in Kent.
