Find Ancestors

Hi
I am trying to find any information on Ruth Carter and her parents/grandparents etc.
I know Ruth was born about 1888 and married about 1907 in Fulham to Thomas Lancaster.
I cannot afford to keep buying certificates so am trying to do as much as possible without buying to many.
any help would be really appreciated, i know tha somewhere in this line there should be a american or canadian link.

thanks very much for your replys,
this is the right family as i am pretty sure my father in law Frederick Lancaster is named after his grandfather Frederick Carter.
and Ruths husband came from Normanton, but it is Ruths line i am trying to research.
I did have certificates, but unfortunately lost most of them in a house fire.

So any help in finding Ruths parents and grandparent etc would be really appreciated.

I agree with Ginny that you do need some certs and I'm sorry to hear that you lost them in a fire.
In the meantime though, you could make notes of possible matches ready for when you can afford the certificates.

Thanks if my memory serves me right, Pemberton was a name i have seen before, so this is a strong possibility.
I had lots of notes etc, but just hadnt got round to putting them all on my tree,
I cant look at the census as i have only renewed to the £9.95 membership at the moment.
But i am pretty sure this is the right family.

You're welcome. I have just checked the census and it does indeed say that Eliza was born in Lambeth, so the birth is a strong possibility too.
Frederick and the children all given as born in Hammersmith.

You really do need the marriage certificate if you are absolutely sure it's the right one. If it gives father as Edwin, an iron moulder, this looks a good bet for Eliza in 1861.
