Ward from Bolton

I'm trying to find Ward from Bolton and struggling.
M grandad was Albert Ward born in approx 1899 and married my nana Margaret Grundy birth approx 1901 i've found there marriage certificate but cannot find anything prior, can anyone help me please !!

Dawn, you need to say if you have the marriage cert or not. There will be valuable info on it which will confirm that the 1911 findings above are right, or otherwise. You haven't commented on Albert at all - does his age and occupation fit?

If you look on the Freebmd site there is only one possible birth for Margaret, so if you get this cert it will give you both her parents' names.

No unfortunately i haven't got the marriage certificate, would i have to get to that from Bolton register office, do you know.
Sorry i really appreciate your help, when i request a cert do i put on eg 8c 413.

Most people order certs online from the GRO (General Record Office) site:

www.gro.gov.uk

They cost £9.25

You need to register and use a credit/debit card, though I think there is a form you can print off if you would rather order by post.

You can also apply in person at the Lancashire certificate centre at Preston Marina and providing you only want one, they do it while you wait.
