I have tried to search on this site and have failed to make a match, or have had no reply, I am no further on with this side of my family tree, I do not even know how many siblings James had. He was based at Andover in the 40s, he was in the army, he lived in Yorkshire most of hios adult life, he retired to Brighton. He may have been born in London.

many thanks Victoria

If the birth date above is correct there are 2 possible births, but it depends on how accurate the info is - birth years on death certs are not too reliable:

Births Sep 1921 (>99%)
Johnson James E Winter Auckland 10a 510
Johnson James E Lawson Headington 3a 192

If he married in England you will only get his father's name.

it should give fathers name and occupation unless he has died and it might say d'ced. You could be lucky that a witness might be (mother/ sibling!)

Thankyou again everyone, I do have five children, only two with father on birth cert: all children are Johnson but sadly 3 have not been found and were adopted. It would be nice if I could find some siblings of James Eustace Johnson, I think his birth cert is the way forward.

kind regards to you all Victoria

as you are not sure of where he was born i think you may need to get the marriage cert to find fathers name . We may then be able to find him or you would have his name to check it out on birth certs to make sure you have the right one!
