Trying to find out more information regarding this couple Ellen R Cox b 1888 formerly Belsham and Herbert H Cox b 1883 have found the 1911 census which states they have child ivy who i know of but also a Herbert h cox jnr 4 months believe he must have died as this member has not been mentioned from my mums memory. They lived 40 nisbet st, st john at hackney. Dont know what happened after this as the lady is supposidly my nan who lived with my grandad william briggs so could anyone fill in the gaps. Any help appreicated.

They obviously didn't marry until 1949 for some reason.

Thanks Choccy yes i have the marriage cert for them in 1910 but have no trace of marriage after that to my grandad William Briggs or if they herbert died or they were divorced? . They may never of married but they did have children together but not sure which ones are from which marriage/relationship.
I will apply for the death cert astra incase it is him many thanks.
The birth was an estimated birth in 1910 taken from the 1911 census as shown above by choccy, the son was 4 months at the time so dont think that death is for him but thanks Tania

Looks like her first husband Herbert H Cox did not die until 1940, posted by Astra (the probable reason why they did not marry until 1949)



The births I posted between 1922 and 1931 are with father's name Briggs and mother's maiden name Belsham.

Thanks again for that Choccy i am just waiting for the gro to send me my password so i can order all of those as its been so long since i last did my tree i have forgotten it. One more thing do you think that Herbert could also have been known as Robert cox/Briggs as my mum can remember another brother who married a dutch girl names Kari/cari Eidermann i believe her name was, but my mum can not recall a child named herbert? They went on to have 3 children eileen, anton and ellen but dobs for anyone i do not have.

Sorry just got off the phone with mother and it was not robert who married a dutch lady it was Billy/william. It appears there is a robert cox but no more info than that so i do wonder if perhaps his name was herbert and they called him robert as the herbert born in 1911 dosent seem to have died as a child but my mum does not recall him but does recall robert?

William married kari/cari he met her when he was in the army but they did live in london hackney but they could have married in Holland.
