Cannot find Sarah Roberts on any census apart from 1901. In 1901 she was aged 70 a widow, had been born on Tottenham, London. She had a daughter who was married ( married name Callow) her maiden name would have been Harriet R Roberts aged 36 in 1901, Harriet was born in Bermondsey London. I have search everywhere for this one, can anyone brighter than me find any further details for me? would be very grateful.

Just wondering if you can help, still trying to collect all the census details on Sarah Roberts, I need 1861, 1851 and 1841. I realise that I don't have a maiden name for her, but I have spent nearly all day looking for clues to no avail. I would be extremely grateful if you can come across any details.
In 1881 she was 48 years old married to Evan, she was born in Tottenham, Middlesex, England. Her address in 1881 was 81 Bermondsey New Road. Many thanks. June

June, I would strongly advise getting Harriet's birth certificate as Sarah's are ten a penny! Not sure you have a hope otherwise. You are fortunate that they called her by a distinctive name!

The district Rotherhithe is an alternative name for Rotherhithe and it is in the county of Surrey

...........but I think Jan is absolutely right.
You can guess all you want about Sarah's maiden name, but the price of the birth cert. is well worth the money for peace of mind otherwise you'll never be completely sure if you have the correct name.
