Karen,
How did the name match come up?
If on Ancestry, then you should be able to send a message to the other member.

Hi, I have been completing my genealogy for some time now and have recently completed a DNA testing, Olaf Peter Korsan came up as a match to me as a 3rd - 5th cousin, I am not able to see the connection to me at the moment, maybe we could help each other?

Best wishes

Kaz

The birth dates of the child are different so the records may indicate that perhaps the Peder Meinhard Korsan born in 1899 died and the parents gave their next born son the same name. That was something that appears to have happened quite frequently in the UK at least.

Of course there is always the possibility that there were 2 married couples in Stavanger who had the same names and also named their son Peder Meinhard Korsan.

Thank you so much for taking the time to search this information for me.

A question though, this might sound silly but why is there 2 records with different dates for Peder Meinherd.

where do I go from here?

Can you recommend any other search sites to use in my mission.

TIA and for all your kindness, much appreciated
Ingrid

Hi I''m just starting my family tree, my fathers side is Korsan.

The Info I have is

My father is Olaf Peter Korsan born 1943 to Ole Magnus Korsan (1894) from Stavenger, Norway. He married Agnes Olsen (1905) in 1933.
Ole Magnus had a brother I believe called Rudolph who emigrated to America during the war.

Can you give me some guidance where to get more information.

TIA
Ingrid
