Hi, This is really a long shot but i have Baker ancestors who lived in Bethnal Green area. My grandfather was George Alexander Baker born c1881 and was married toMary Shepherd in 1906 and they had 3 children one of which was my father living in Enfield,London ( according to the 1912 census ) I have had difficulty tracing further back in my family tree on the Baker side but your description of the Bakers struck a cord with me and I wondered if the George you talk about is actually George Alexander Bakers father. I have to be a bit cautious as i did find a George Baker on the census records who turned out NOT to be a relative of mine.i would love to find out more about your Bakers |

Trying to find George Baker (1826) son of William Baker (1801) and his spouse Jane Charlotte Baker (nee Deighton 20 Dec 1823) in 1851 census. Both were born in Bethnal Green. They were married in 1847 and by 1851 had 2 children Jane Matilda born 1847 and George William born 5/2 1849. At the time of George's baptism they were living in Albion Place, Bethnal Green. In the 1861 census they were living in Squirries Street Bethnal Green. Both William and George's occupation is either Fire works maker or artist in fireworks in census and marriage /baptismal documents. Any help gratefully received. |
