Can anyone find anything about the death of Thomas Harris in a diving accident pre1857?

Just looked for Motley and probably actually Martley

Hi

I have the marriage certificate for my great great grandparents - Esther Harris and Deamethras Zeverona (Dimitrius Ziverona). They were married in 1879 - Esther's father is noted as Thomas Harris (deceased) - he was a diver and I believe he died in a diving accident. At the time of the marriage they are listed as living in Bute street Liverpool and Esther is 22 years old. I have found two Esther Harris (mother/daughter) living in Bute street on the 1871 census but can't work out where the mother was born and presume Thomas dead by then or at sea? Can anyone help me find further information or where Thomas was from and who his parents where? Many thanks
